Paul is a San Diego native and has always been fascinated with fruit trees and unique plants. He bought his first dragon fruit plant, also known as pitahaya, in 2015 and treated it like a desert cacti. It never thrived, but since then, he now grows around 400-500 named varieties and has his own hybrid seedlings.
He has designed his own trellis system using rebar, steel, concrete, drain pipes, and bamboo, and has a YouTube Channel called “Rare Dragon Fruit” with his friend Scott, to share the information they have learned and to teach any viewer how to grow them successfully.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for socializing and setup. Business meeting and presentation start at 7, followed by the raffle at around 8:15.
