[POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN FORECAST -- LOOK FOR THIS TOUR TO BE RESCHEDULED IN JANUARY], we will be touring Joe Weber’s place in Encinitas. Joe and his wife live in the adobe house that his great-grandfather Captain L. L. Bucklew built almost 100 years ago. Joe cares for the remaining mango trees that Captain Bucklew planted before World War II.

Greg Alder visited there in 2022 and posted an extensive history and video about it, and about growing mangoes in Southern California. Read and watch it here: Captain Bucklew's California mango trees
