MEETING SCHEDULE

• 6:00pm – 7:00pm: gate/doors open at 6pm. Come help the board members set up for the meeting and socialize with other members. Meeting will begin promptly at 7pm.

• 7:00pm – 7:15pm: Business meeting

• 7:15pm – 8:15pm: Presentation with questions at the end

• 8:15pm – 8:50pm: Raffle

• 8:50pm – 9:00 pm: Clean up

Soil Scientist and Master Gardener Niki Vollrath will be joining us on September 22 to talk about all things soil. Topics include:

• What is soil?

• What is healthy soil?

• Factors affecting soil health

• How to manage soil health

• Whether and how to amend soil

• Keeping your soil healthy

Niki is a member of the Master Gardener Class of 2023. She holds a B.S. in Soil Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and an M.S. in Tropical Agriculture from the University of Hawaii Manoa. She was a soil scientist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Hawaii and California. She currently resides in Rancho Penasquitos with her husband.
