Golden Berry Pico de Gallo

Golden Berry (aka Cape Gooseberry, aka Peruvian Ground Cherry) Pico de Gallo

Ingredients

  • 1/2 red onion, diced

  • 6 oz golden berries, "paper lanterns" removed, sliced into quarters

  • 6 oz cherry tomatoes, sliced into quarters

  • 1/4 bunch cilantro, chopped

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 1-2 jalapeno peppers or other chiles, finely diced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Prepare

  1. Combine all ingredients and gently toss. Serve with tortilla chips, alongside burritos or tacos, or over fish or chicken.

  2. Store any unused salsa in the refrigerator for up to five days.
