Richard Edwards on Beekeeping

This presentation on beekeeping will cover the history of beekeeping in California and the story about Mr. Harbison, the inventor of the modern-day bee box. He will also cover the pollination problems that we have here in San Diego county and problems with pesticides, Varella mites, trachea, mites, and other diseases affecting the bees in a negative way. He will share about the first bio fence being used today in Africa, to keep the elephants out of the agricultural areas, utilizing bees as a fence.

He will have honey for sale and an opportunity to taste honey from Africa, and other parts of the US . This should be a very interesting presentation and he encourages group input and questions pertinent to the topic. Honey will be for sale at the wholesale rate.
